The Odisha State Aahaar Society (OSAS) has been formed and registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 having the responsibility of giving strategic guidance to the City / District Aahaar Society (CAS / DAS) in planning, managing, monitoring and providing technical support in implementing the Aahaar Programme for providing hot cooked meals to the needy people at places of public congregation in the urban areas.
The highest authority of the society is the General Body at the state level consisting of 12 members headed by the Chief Secretary, Odisha. The Executive Committee consisting of 10 members is vested with all the powers of the society for implementing the policy decisions for its smooth functioning and supervision.
City Aahaar Society (CAS) has been registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 for implementing Aahaar Programme in respect of the Aahaar Kendras located within the territorial jurisdiction of respective municipal corporations. CAS is headed by the Commissioner of the corporation.
District Aahaar Society (DAS) has been registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 for implementing Aahaar Programme in respect of the Aahaar Kendras located within the districts. DAS is headed by the Collector of the district.
Implementing Partners, non-profit making organizations / WSHGs have been identified for preparing and serving hot cooked meals in the alloted Aahaar Kendras.
